<p>Chernobylite is an indie survival horror game based on the real world <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;world-nuclear&period;org&sol;information-library&sol;safety-and-security&sol;safety-of-plants&sol;chernobyl-accident&period;aspx">Chernobyl disaster<&sol;a>&period; A nuclear disaster blanketing a portion of Russia&semi; making inhabitable for many years&period; Chernobylite follows this&comma; but adds cosmic horrors and a scummy corporation&comma; the NAR&comma; that would give Umbrella a run for their money&period; Creatures from the beyond hunt in the lands&semi; attacking anyone who dares to step forward&period; The Nar&comma; a scum bag corporation that caused the Chernobyl disaster&comma; yet&comma; still seeks the power of Chernobylite and will stop at nothing to harness it&&num;8217&semi;s powers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;" wp-image-172874 aligncenter" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2021&sol;08&sol;20154456&sol;cer&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"535" height&equals;"301" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Essentially&comma; Chernobylites are radiation crystals that can do anything like bend space and time&period; Our character&comma; Igor Khymynuk&comma; knows about the this and seeks them too&comma; but for a different reason&period; His wife&comma; Tatyana&comma; went missing after the disaster and he believes the Chernobylite can assist him finding her&period; So&comma; he hired two mercenaries to infiltrate the NAR head quarters to nab him a Chernobylite&period; However&comma; not everything goes to plan when the Black Stalker appears and kills one of the hired helps&period; Out gunned&comma; Igor and the other helper bail with the Chernobylite&period; They recuperate at their base planning a new heist towards the NAR&period; Before taking on the NAR and finding Tatyana&semi; they need more man power&comma; weapons&comma; and equipment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h3>Pros<&sol;h3>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>Compelling story<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Fun colorful characters<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Choices have rewards and consequences<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>The time traveling mechanic is well thought out<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>The semi-open worlds are nicely detailed<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Dynamic weather effects<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Weapon and base customization is fun<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Extremely repayable<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<h3>Cons<&sol;h3>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>Default difficulty is too easy&period; Devaluing the core mechanics<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Indoor environments aren&&num;8217&semi;t as eye catching<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Isn&&num;8217&semi;t scary<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Needs more enemy variety<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<p><strong>Rating&colon; <&sol;strong>8&sol;10<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Price&colon;<&sol;strong>&dollar;29&period;99<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Closing thoughts&colon; <&sol;strong>My time with Chernobylite has been thoroughly enjoyable&period; The story telling was really compelling with likable interesting characters&period; Every choices can have short or long reaching effects&semi; giving the game a great amount of replay ability&period; Core mechanics such as the team and base mechanics are essential for the game&&num;8217&semi;s final mission&comma; the heist&period; However&comma; the default difficulty does devalue those core mechanics&comma; so I recommend placing everything on a harder difficulty for a better experience&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Check out our other content&excl; Including previous <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;podcasts&sol;">podcast episodes<&sol;a> and the latest <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;reviews&sol;">game reviews<&sol;a>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
