Aaron Sorkin has recently discussed how Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale did not have to audition for the role of Steve Jobs, former Apple Inc. CEO, in the forthcoming biopic on the technological inventor and entrepreneur.
During a recent interview with Bloomberg, Sorkin explained how he “couldn’t be more excited” by having the former Dark Knight Rises star on board with the project, while also claiming how Bale is a “phenomenal” actor.
“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris[tian] Bale,” Sorkin said. “He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.”
Sorkin is currently working on a screenplay based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography Steve Jobs, with the writer already proving his skills on a biopic when he picked up an Academy Award for David Fincher’s The Social Network, which focused on the rise of the social networking website Facebook and its founder and current CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
“He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined,” Sorkin added. “There isn’t a scene or a frame that he’s not in. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it.”
Dubbed at this moment in time as “Jobs,” the biopic has been confirmed by Sorkin to begin filming within the next few months.
Directed by Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle, Jobs is rumoured for release in 2016.
