Clockwork Demon Launches ‘Adopted’ Kickstarter

How much is that doggy in the window?  About $140,000, which is what indie developer Clockwork Demon is looking for via Kickstarter to help fund their dog-exploration game Adopted.

We’ve talked to the folks at Clockwork Demon in the past, but in case you missed it, here’s a summary: you play as Luchador, a rescue Boston Terrier who can shape the lives of those around him by being a dog.  You can fetch items, get into mischief, or just sit back and watch how things play out between your three co-owners.  The Kickstarter page gives out a lot more information as well, detailing that there’s only 36 hours until two of your owners, Marisa and Wyatt, are getting married.  The third owner, Laurel, has some serious skeletons rattling around in her closet.  And you’re a dog.

The scope of the project is only getting bigger, with Oculus Rift support now being built-in and a twangy, bluesy soundtrack to cause canine chaos to.  The rewards for your backing range from the normal (game downloads, digital artbooks) to the exclusive (the acoustic guitar used by Caleb Moore to record the game’s soundtrack) to the moderately insane (Writer Leo Glass will adopt a dog and name it whatever you’d like).
