A new 2D Final Fantasy game titled Final Fantasy: All The Bravest is set to launch on iOS devices.
The spin-off game is developed by Square Enix and is set to launch tomorrow, 17th January, although it has already been spotted for purchase on the New Zealand App Store, priced at NZ $4.19. The acronym of the game’s subtitle – ATB – would seem to come from the series’ “Active Time Battle” system, and this seems fitting given that the focus of All The Bravest is on combat.
The App Store description for the game states, “Every character possesses an ATB gauge that displays the time remaining until that character can execute an action. When the gauge is full, simply tap or drag your finger over the character to attack. Touch multiple characters in quick succession to experience exhilarating and fast-paced battle unlike anything you’ve ever played before!”
“Once every three hours, the Fever option will appear. Once activated, you will be able to attack without waiting for ATB gauges to refill as long as the chocobo-themed music is playing. Deal as much damage as you can before the battle fever ends!”
Familiar characters and enemies from previous games in the Final Fantasy series will make appearances, as will some classic musical tracks. More characters will also be available as in-app purchases.
