Earlier this week, websites started reporting that the Wii U, whilst being able to support external USB storage devices, would not be able to launch software from them.

Considering that Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition will be 16.7 GB it is a huge concern for fans of Nintendo’s upcoming console and this news was something of a huge shock for them all.

However, since the original stories started circling the internet, the Official Nintendo Magazine UK have since contacted certain websites and clarified that the post on the Japanese Wii U website was “misinterpreted” and it is still unknown if software can be played directly from storage devices or not.

The Official Nintendo Magazine UK have since contacted Nintendo for an update and we are waiting for their response.
