Hollywood is known to have an appalling track record of adapting video games into the film. They can’t seem to stop regurgitating out films that barely resemble the video game is based on. Out of the 38 live-action video game movies produced, only one, Sonic The Hedgehog movie, reaches the amazing heights of being a good fun movie. Honestly, how hard is it to follow the established formula provided by the game? Well, let’s find out if Mirror’s Edge could potentially join Sonic The Hedgehog.

The game takes place in a “utopia” city that is heavily controlled by corporations and government. You take control of Faith Connors. A runner that acts as a messenger for clients that want to bring down the current system. Things go colossally sideways; when her sister, Kate Connors, is framed for murdering a candidate for mayor. The only clue Faith has is a torn paper from the dead candidate’s diary with the words, Project Icarus, written on it. Faith is running against time before her sister is charged with murder and figure out the mysterious Project Icarus is.

Mirror’s Edge was released back in 2008. The game experimented with platforming by having the game view from a first-person perspective. They didn’t stop there; they incorporated parkour mechanics for the players to traverse the environment. Creating a unique game that was incredibly fun to play. Despite the positive feedback, Mirror’s Edge did not sell well. However, maybe Mirror’s Edge can find a new home with films?
