One of the biggest piece of news that Microsoft announced to try and cover everything else which pretty much destroyed the Xbox One reveal was that gamers will be able to share their game library with up to ten “family members” allowing for gamers to have instant access to a wealthier library of games (whilst also encouraging them to buy it for themselves obviously).
It seems that Valve may have a similar idea on the horizon as code has been spotted in the latest Steam client beta that suggests that this very feature could be coming to Steam in the future. As Kotaku further delved into the code they saw references being made such as a “shared game library” with dialogue prompts for its use.
Other prompts are also included such as:
“Just so you know, your games are currently in use by %borrower%. Playing now will send %borrower% a notice that it’s time to quit”.
“This shared game is currently unavailable. Please try again later or buy this game for your own library”.
