Crash is finally back and brings a lot of additional features to explore. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a game that has no desire to revolutionize the games of the Bandicoot saga, but more than anything else it strengthens the basics and refines the content. Spacetime is one of these significant innovations, and Crash will have to control it to complete his missions.
With great powers, there are great headaches if you don’t know these types of games very well. However, with my complete Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time tips and tricks guide, you will be a better Crash in no time! In this title, Crash and Coco will have to travel in space and time to stop the diabolical plan of Dr. Neo Cortex, Doctor N. Tropy, and the diabolical Uka Uka mask.
For this hard task, you have several characters to use: Crash, Coco, Tawna, Dingodile, and Cortex. In addition, you will be able to obtain the supreme power of the masks of spacetime to give greater variety to the gameplay. In this Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time tips and tricks guide, you will find out what their powers are and many other interesting things.
DON’T FORGET TO HAVE FUN
If in Super Mario the levels are full of coins and in Spyro full of crystals, when playing Crash, you can only expect boxes hidden in every corner. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is full of them. If you spot a crack, there is a big chance that there is a box underneath. You will find the boxes in hidden rooms, under strange textures, and even submerged in vines.
Look everywhere to find them all, especially in places where you might not see them immediately. To find all the boxes and get the special gems, you must be constantly vigilant. However, don’t lose your mind when you cannot find them all. Crash Bandicoot 4 is great when played at a relaxed pace. The game is rich in content. There are apples to find, secret areas to discover, and a host of challenges that will keep you glued to the screen for hours. So if you miss a few, take a deep breath, and keep enjoying yourself!
CHOOSE HOW YOU WANT TO PLAY
We all know that Crash Bandicoot has always been a very difficult video game, with punishing challenges that forced you to restart entire levels. With Crash 4, Toys For Bob and Activision has created a separate difficulty for anyone who wants to embark on a not too exhausting adventure. They call this the Modern mode. With this Modern mode, you have the option to return to a checkpoint not too far from the place of death, whatever the fatality may be. But I definitely know a few old school players that will turn up their noses at this way of playing. However, there are in fact those who want to have fun without constant irritation and frustration.
The previous Crash titles, in fact, threw you out of the level as soon as your lives ended, increasing the degree of challenge, but also the frustration at atomic levels. The Retro mode is for those types of players, adding further suffering to the style of play. However, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is hard enough on its own, even without the old system. The choice is yours. You decide how you want to play the game.
MASTERING THE TECHNIQUES
Understanding the right way to make the different jumps in the game can be difficult for a first-time Crash player. In fact, many of the skills that Crash learned in previous titles are immediately available in Crash 4. This will inevitably lead some players to unfortunate falls and trips if you are, as I mentioned above, a first-time Crash player. Take note that you can double jump, jump slightly higher with a slide, and gain more height by bouncing off the boxes by pressing the button at the right moment. These are techniques that you must remember in order to reach many of the secrets scattered throughout the levels. But it doesn’t stop there!
Jumping isn’t the only aspect to consider, as landing is just as important. By following the position of your shadow, you should be able to understand on which surface you will end up. In Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, a yellow circle will appear around the shadow whenever you jump or if you are in the air. Always make use of this yellow circle and master your landing skills!
QUANTUM MASKS
One of the most interesting components of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time gives the game its name: the manipulation of spacetime. As in almost every game in the series, it is the masks that give you supreme powers. Below you can see the four available in-game quantum masks, and each with its own special powers.
- Ika-Ika: Allows you to reverse your center of gravity at the push of a button. You can activate this by standing on the ground or on a ceiling.
- Kapuna-Wa: This is the mask of time and allows Crash and Coco to shape it at will. By wearing it, it is in fact possible to slow down time. This is a power that makes it easier to jump on fast platforms and avoid enemies.
- Lani-Loli: By wearing this mask, you will have the power to transfer objects like boxes and obstacles in and out of existence. A blue aura will highlight objects that you can transfer. Objects that have already been brought out of existence will be intangible but with a similar blue aura around them as described above.
- Akano: This is the formidable mask of dark matter. By making use of this power, Crash and Coco can perform powerful spins in the air that allow them to glide for a short period. These spins can also open locked chests and repel enemy bullets.
TAKING CARE OF ENEMIES
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a very well done game and there is also a wonderful variety of enemies to face. To understand how to beat them, you will have to sharpen your eyes and understand the right way to deal with them based on their movements. If they whip their swords in front of them, it is advisable not to attack them from the front. You should instead jump on their heads or attack them from behind.
However, if they have a hat with a flamethrower, bouncing on them will be lethal for you. Don’t worry too much about death, as the game will offer help in that case. Dying 5 times in a single checkpoint will give you an Aku Aku mask. Dying 10 times will give you a golden Aku Aku mask. Dying 15 times will make you invincible for a limited amount of time. These gifts are only available if you die in the same section of the level.
