Today, Crytek’s games division manager, Chris Button-Brown made it clear that they are not developing a Wii U version for Crysis 3, via Twitter.

Interestingly enough, this news comes despite an interview held with Mike Read (Crysis 3‘s producer) about a week ago where he claimed that a Wii U format for the upcoming title is “not ruled out.” In this interview, Mr. Read explained that due to the fact that Crytek has slated Crysis 3 for a February 2013 release, they can’t exactly afford to put development time into a console that doesn’t have any information as far as release dates.

However, he did add that the Wii U version is a possibility and that they are, in fact, working with Nintendo, but he was unable to go any further than that.

Crysis 3 will still be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
