Crysis 3 is set in New York City in 2047. It’s not the New York you may be familiar with; it has been overrun by nature and encased in an enormous “nanodome” by the evil Cell Corporation, who are trying to conquer the world bit by bit with the placement of nanodomes.
Prophet managed to sneak into New York’s “Liberty Dome” to track down Cell and the alien Ceph are still running around in large numbers. Players will be fighting both across the large sandbox rainforest that is now New York City. Crysis 3 is due out in spring 2013.
According to Crytek, the liberty dome will contain “seven distinct and treacherous environments,” although no specific details were given. In order to battle the new threats, Prophet will have an “enhanced Nanosuit” and some “devastating alien tech.”
