Cevat Yerli has stated that his company, Crytek, does not plan to develop games for the Nintendo Wii U or the PlayStation Vita. The studio will support the Wii U with the CryEngine tech, but will not developing anything in-house.

“For the Wii U, there will be games that run on the CryEngine, but from licensees,” Yerli told German games site Golem.

It appears the rumor that THQ’s Homefront title that is being developed by Crytek’s UK studio will not be appearing on the Wii U, unless another studio takes up the reigns.

Yerli also stated the company has no plans to develop for the PS Vita.

“The Playstation Vita is currently too uncertain for us as a platform,” he said.

“Technically, I find the Vita very appealing, and have fun with it – no question. From a business perspective it is a bit too late.”
