Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Again, Releasing In November

The upcoming cyberpunk RPG has been further delayed until November

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is already infamous for its lengthy development cycle. And despite being announced last year to arrive April this year, it was then delayed until September.

But it seems those eager for a visit to Night City will have to wait a little longer again. In an update released today, CD Projekt RED announced that the game has been further delayed until November 19.

A Game Worth Waiting For

Hopefully Cyberpunk will be worth the wait. The consensus among gamers seem to be that we are more than willing to trust CD Projekt RED to deliver a memorable experience. Given this shows that they are willing to admit they need more time with the game means a lot.

We’ve seen time and time again from other developers and publishers that rushing games out the door is a recipe for bad reviews and angry customers. We only need to look back at Fallout 76 and Anthem as prime examples of this. Both games had rushed schedules and suffered as a result due to the insane crunch put on the development staff.

Hopefully the longer development time means that the crunch won’t be as taxing on the development team. But since it seems Cyberpunk is pretty much finished according to the update, it’s safe to assume that all that’s left is polish and ironing out bugs in the game.

Given how complex the game seems to be, it’s understandable there’s a lot that could go wrong. The more complex your game is, the more likelyhood there is of bugs occuring. They also talked about adding multiplayer, so the extra time might be needed to make that work well as well.

Biggest Game Of The Year

Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be the biggest game of the year. Both in terms of its scope and its hype. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype and can deliver a truly groundbreaking roleplaying experience.

The team has already promised everything from multiple story paths, to customizable genitals. So when November comes, it’s time to buckle up for the great game event of the year. And with how much 2020 has thrown our way, it seems fitting to end the year on a high note.
