Cyberpunk 2077’s release date is approaching rapidly. And the third episode of Night City Wire just aired, detailing more of what we can expect from it. Night City Wire, for those unaware, is a series of streams that give us small trailers and developer interviews. They serve to not only build hype, but also keep us informed on what to expect from Cyberpunk 2077.

So in case you wanna know what’s going on, here’s a summary of what Night City Wire 3 revealed to us. If you wanna know everything more in depth, we strongly recommend checking out the full Night City Wire episode. This episode gave us a deeper insight into Night City itself, so let’s dive in.

Postcards From Night City

We got a very good look into the design of Night City itself. The developers have put a large amount of effort into making each district distinct. As they put it themselves, what they wanted to avoid was a city that was too samey. After all, it is very easy to fall into the trap of making everything feel the same.

It also feels like Night City is a glimpse of what the future could be. Some cautionary elements exist, such as the pollution and waste problem. Homelessness is also a growing problem in Night City, more than ever. So while there’s a lot of cool stuff in Night City to look forward to, like all good cyberpunk, 2077 tells us what will happen if we don’t address these issues.

<amp-youtube layout="responsive" width="500" height="281" data-videoid="a7_D1qlwOp0" title="Cyberpunk 2077 — Gangs of Night City"></amp-youtube>

Gangs Of Night City

One aspect that will help each district feel unique are the gangs that occupy them. And there are some pretty distinct ones that you will be interacting with. Being in good graces with some of them will give you some needed backup. And making some into enemies might make your life more of a pain than necessary.

The Maelstrom gang seem heavily into body modification. They’re pretty much the kind of gang you would think of when the term cyberpunk comes up. If I could think of any equivalents, it would be the harvester gang from Deus Ex Human Revolution.

The Valentinos are more of a Latin-American gang. They kind of remind me of some gangs from GTA and Saints Row. They seem to value honor and tradition, so they could be a bit wary of outsiders. But definitely a gang that will die for you if you become valuable to them.

And then there’s the 6th Street gang. This ultra-patriotic gang seem to hold on to patriotic ideals like freedom and self-preservation. They are dressed heavily in American flag symbols, and seem to like guns and beer a lot. Not much else to know about them.

The Voodoo Boys are a Haitian gang that you definitely don’t want to mess with. The Animals are roided up muscle that seem more into just chaotic mayhem than anything else. The Tyger Claws are a typical Chinese gang, with a heavy focus on Katanas and motorcycles.

We’ve already discussed the Moxes. This gang consists of mostly prostitutes, but the kind you don’t wanna mess around with. They’re the queens of the underworld, freaks who bonded over their mutual situation.

Among the nomad gangs we have the Wraiths, who you don’t wanna meet on a dark night. The Aldecaldos value family and community above everything else. A tight-knit community that distrusts outsiders, but watches out for their own.

Still On Track For November

So if that at all got you hyped for Cyberpunk 2077, you can rest easy knowing the game is still on track for its November 19th release date. And if you’re feeling like you need a cyberpunk fix before that, why not check out Ghostrunner? Stay tuned!
