Cyberpunk 2077 Not Coming to E3 This Year

Unfortunately fans hoping to see more of Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 this year will be disappointed, as CD Projekt Red has stated the game will not be making an appearance.

The confirmation came via a Q&A following a financial report for the company (courtesy of Eurogamer). There are big plans for the company in coming years, but Cyberpunk 2077 will not be making an appearance before 2017, apparently.

However, fans of the Witcher series will still be getting the expansion Blood and Wine for The Witcher 3 sometime in the first half of this year. While there’s been no confirmation of a date yet, there’s been speculation that it may be released around May, since that would be the anniversary of the first game’s release.

CD Projekt Red has more plans for 2017 onward, as the developer has significantly increased its size. If plans for further expansion work out, this would mean there would be four teams working on games. In addition to Cyberpunk 2077, there are also plans for a new triple-A-RPG, though no details were given on what that could be.

The few details known about Cyberpunk 2077 so far are that it will be set in the near future where (of course) with new, advanced technology comes a plethora of new issues and problems to be dealt with. Apparently the game will be open-world and be even bigger than the world of The Witcher 3.

Disappointed the game won’t make an appearance, or relieved the devs are taking their time with what looks to be a huge and heavily detailed game?
