Cyberpunk 2077 has you dealing with a lot of dangers. So naturally, you will have to be prepared if you wanna go dealing with gangs, corporate soldiers, and all the fun stuff. Luckily, there are a ton of options at your disposal. So let’s take a look at them.
Weapon Types
Power weapons are the most similar to contemporary weapons. Though with a major distinction in the sense the bullets can ricochet off surfaces. This allows you to hit enemies behind cover by ricocheting the bullets onto them.
Tech weapons use EMP charges to fire hypervelocity rounds. These rounds can punch through cover and walls. This makes them great for stealth kills since you can shoot enemies before they are even aware of you.
Smart weapons use guided projectiles and track targets in real-time. This means you can home in on targets below or above you or at odd angles. Or even home in on enemies dodging or running away. And gives another way of shooting at targets behind cover. So pretty much all 3 gun types are good at giving you the upper hand in combat.
Weapon Mods
You can also modify your weapons in the game. While we aren’t sure about cosmetic mods yet, it’s safe to assume you can skin these weapons as you see fit. But let’s focus on what we do know.
Attachments are physical hardware modifications. These include scopes, silencers, stock, and so forth that physically attach to your gun. Different scopes can offer different ways of spotting enemies. And a silencer can be good for a stealth weapon.
Software modifications are software chips you can install to enhance a gun’s stats. Whether it be increased damage, accuracy, fire rate, and so forth, these modifications aren’t physical but still affect how well your gun behaves.
Another thing that impacts how your gun behaves is your own proficiency. As the game progresses, you will become increasingly proficient with your weapons. So you’re going to need all the help you can get.
Different Grades
Weapons come in different rarities as well. Common, uncommon, rare, and legendary. The rarer a gun is, the more powerful it is. Legendary weapons will even have unique abilities. Though they might be wielded by someone you like, so it might be a hard choice if you wanna kill them over it or not.
You can buy weapons from vendors, but your best bet is to just loot them from dead enemies and loot caches. That’s probably how you’ll get the best guns in the game as well.
What do you think of the guns? And which do you plan to use? Let us know in the comments!
