Ruiner Switch

When it comes to shooters, Ruiner is one that has garnered some attention recently. Developed by Reikon Games and published by Developer Digital, the cyberpunk themed top down shooter hit PS4, XBox One and PC in 2017.

It currently holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, so the game has definitely gathered a significant fanbase. In a recent tweet, it was announced that it would soon arrive on the Nintendo Switch.

YOU CAN NEVER ESCAPE. RUINER IS COMING TO #NintendoSwitch WHEN? 01010011 01001111 01001111 01001110 You asked, we deliver. It took a while, but we’re almost there. Get ready. Help us and SPREAD THE NEWS! #RUINER #ruinergame #nintendo #switch #cyberpunk

The Switch has already gathered a fairly sizable library of third party titles, with games like Neon Chrome and Velocity 2X already having arrived on the console to give Switch gamers a 2D shooter fix. So Ruiner also arriving is definitely good news for those who wish to have a portable version of the game.

A Dystopian Story Of Cyberpunks

As for Ruiner itself, it’s a cyberpunk themed shooter set in the year 2091 in the cyber metropolis Rengkok. The main character fights against a corrupt government while trying to rescue his kidnapped brother, helped by a hacker.

It’s pretty good stuff and fans of cyberpunk should definitely check out this game. Especially if you’re into games like Shadowrun or Cyberpunk 2020 and want a more action oriented experience. And while we are waiting on CD Projekt Red’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, this might deliver that fix in the meantime.

Another game that could be worth checking out if you need a cyberpunk fix is also 3D Realms’ upcoming title “Ghostrunner“. And if that also ends up on the Switch, there are definitely a lot of cyberpunk experiences ready to be taken on the go.
