Dangerous Golf Tees Up for Wanton Destruction in May

Dangerous Golf

Three Fields Entertainment formed in 2014 by the founders of Criterion Games – the studio known for the Burnout series and Black. Recently, they had been toying with the notion of a Burnout spiritual successor, but as reported previously, that would not be their first game. Instead, Dangerous Golf is the game they are planning to release first.

Taking place in four different locations, both indoors and outdoors, players will get the chance to wreak havoc with a fiery golf ball as they attempt to rack up as much dollar damage as they can on 100 different holes. Described by Three Fields Entertainment as “the attitude of Burnout with the destruction of Black,” there hasn’t been much released yet about the game other than that it will be in the vein of previous Criterion titles and contain four locations: a hotel kitchen, a palace ballroom, a rural gas station and a stately medieval castle. The idea behind the game is not to play golf, but to create as much mayhem as humanly possible in a highly destructible environment.

Containing both online and offline multiplayer, Dangerous Golf is aiming to not only craft a fun experience, but also a visually pleasing one. Using Unreal Engine 4 and talking closesly with both Epic and Nvidia, the team is working hard to create an effective physics-based sandbox for players to break apart. A handful of screenshots were released to showcase the stunning destruction in three environments – a kitchen, bathroom, and a room with a lot of china to break.

Dangerous Golf will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, digitally in May 2016. There has not been an official word on the exact release date or price. After this game, the team will be looking to release their spiritual successor to the Burnout series.
