From 11am Pacific time today, select PS3 users in the US will be privy to take part in the Dark Souls 2 beta but only the first 5000 (on a first come, first served basis) will be able to participate. If you happen to get a notice about it, act fast!

The beta itself will kick off on October 12. For those who aren’t able to take part on the 12th, worry not as on October 22, another code will be released, most likely via the Dark Souls 2 Facebook page. This code will be for the open beta that will kick off on October 27 and will allow a further 30,000 users to participate. Users will need to have 3.7GB worth of free space on the PS3 in order to play.

Dark Souls 2 comes out on March 11, 2014 for North America followed by March 14 for Europe and Australia.
