Developer FromSoftware’s officially come to collect the souls of the damned once more next year and it’s in the form of an official Dark Souls entry, the series’ third, to be precise. From the look of its trailer below, Dark Souls III appears to be everything you’ve come to expect from a Souls game. It’s dark, it’s dank, and it’ll probably preview your utter – and inevitable – doom.
As it was revealed this Gamescom at Microsoft’s press conference today in Cologne, Germany, Dark Souls III will be sending its typical armies of the undead and scythe-wielding…things at you this coming year for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. May FromSoftware have mercy on your soul.
Dark Souls III‘s announcement comes hot of the heels of yet another tough-as-nails FromSoftware JRPG earlier this year, Bloodborne. It remains to be seen if the Souls games and their successors will become an annual affair in the near-future.
