Day of the Tentacle HD Screenshots Released

Day of the Tentacle

Earlier this year, Double Fine re-released one of Lucasarts’s seminal adventure games to PlayStation platforms and PC: Grim Fandango. Lucasarts’s Day of the Tentacle will also be getting the remaster treatment when it is released in early 2016. Until then, Double Fine has released a handful of screenshots for the remaster that can be seen below, which showcase the original 1993 classic’s distinct art style.

The remaster of Grim Fandango added a new control scheme to fix the tank controls from the original game and smoothed out a lot of the rough edges on character models. That being said, it was still dealing with 3D models and the baggage that comes along with that. Day of the Tentacle is in the fortunate position of being hand-drawn, which means a lot of the artwork can be re-drawn and in a higher resolution. The proof is in the pudding (or is it ooze?) when you look at these screenshots from the new remaster.

Day of the Tentacle will also come with Maniac Mansion, the original game in the series. You can play both titles sometime in early 2016 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, and Mac.
