Publisher Nordic Games has announced that they have acquired the rights to the de Blob IP. This isn’t the first THQ franchise that the Austria-based company has picked up as they also own Darksiders and Red Faction. Nordic Games’ Reinhard Pollice said:
“de Blob is just a great and truly unique franchise. We are excited about what the future holds for this polychromatic extravaganza as the newest addition to our portfolio. We will evaluate opportunities with the existing games, as well as potential sequels.”
de Blob was a Wii exclusive that launched in 2008. A sequel was released for the Wii, DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.
