Dead Island Definitive Edition Out Now, Launch Trailer Released

Deep Silver has released Dead Island Definitive Edition today, and a launch trailer has accompanied it.

Both the first game and Riptide are included in the collection. In this remastered version, there are touched up textures, a new lighting system that gives the games a realistic look, new shading on models and objects which react to the current lighting, better anti-aliasing (less jagged edges), and other touches, including updated character models, motion blur effects, HBAO, Horizon-based Ambient Occlusion, a revised game UI, and better object shadowing. In addition to that, a previously unofficial PC mod called the Power Fists Power-up to the original release is now official.

In addition to the two games, you get Dead Island: Retro Revenge, which is a 16-bit throwback to the beat-em-up genre with an endless runner.

The Definitive Editions of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide are available seperately for $19.99 (or your regional equivalent) on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you have owned the game on Steam previously, you can get an 85% discount for Steam.
