Deadpool Movie Coming in 2016

20th Century Fox seems to be ready to make good on that test footage for what they apparently said would never go further. But now, after all the clamoring of fans, a Deadpool movie is slated for a release on February 12, 2016. While it’s been revealed that Tim Miller will be directing, there’s no official word yet on who will be playing the title character. There has been talk of Ryan Reynolds possibly returning to the role after playing Deadpool previously in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The script will be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland, GI Joe Retaliation). And although it is too early to tell, one would hope that the film would come with an R-rating to allow for the over-the-top violence. It would be a big stretch for a Marvel superhero movie, but I just couldn’t see a PG-13 Deadpool movie working without being incredibly watered down. But since it won’t be a big summer movie, chances are very high it’ll receive that R.
