Death Stranding Trailer Released At The Game Awards, Features Mads Mikkelsen

After Hideo Kojima won the Industry Icon award at The Game Awards, he gave fans a special surprise: a new Death Stranding trailer that is just as weird as the first and looks stunning as it runs live on PS4 Pro.

Releasing exclusively on PS4 systems, the game stars Norman Reedus and now, Mads Mikkelsen, who is going to be Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and was Bond villain Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. The trailer for Death Stranding follows a character who also looks like Guillermo del Toro, but no confirmation has been made whether he is in the game or just this trailer.

More details about the game will be shared during a panel at this weekend’s PlayStation Experience.

Last year, Hideo Kojima was unable to attend The Game Awards to accept the Best Action/Adventure award for his last work, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Before presenting the Industry Icon award this year, The Game Awards host and organizer Geoff Keighley said, “When I was in doubt, what kept me going was the belief that we had to be back on the same stage as last year to give one man a moment he was robbed of.”

Thankfully he was back to accept the Industry Icon award and reveal more from his upcoming work alongside the relatively new studio Kojima Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Let us know in the comments below what you think of Death Stranding‘s latest trailer.
