Sony has announced the lineup of free PlayStation Plus games for December 2017. The six games include games featuring Death as a playable character and a panda that knows Kung Fu. So, we’re kind of all over the place this month. Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition and Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends is available for PlayStation 4. PlayStation 3 users can add Syberia Collection and Xblaze Lost: Memories to their libraries. PS Vita users get Forma.8 and Wanted Corp. Forma.8 is also available for PS4 via Cross-Buy.
We gave the Darksiders II remake a 9/10, praising how it looks on current gen and how well it plays. The Kung Fu Panda game looks like a Smash Bros. game but using characters from the Kung Fu Panda franchise. The Kung Fu Panda game looks like it has received average scores at best.
The Syberia Collection is two games which are point-and-click adventure games. They follow Kate Walker as she attempts to wrap up a sale on behalf of her law firm and travels across Europe and Russia. XBlaze Lost: Memories is a game that takes place in the BlazBlue universe. Both games are mostly well-received games but may have flown under the radar.
We gave Forma.8 a 7.5/10. We praised its visuals and sound design saying it was “a good little adventure”. Wanted Corp is a third-person action/adventure game with an isometric view. It has received about average scores.
You have until Tuesday to add last month’s games to your libraries. In addition, the bonus game, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, is still available through January 2.
This month’s lineup doesn’t look all that great for PlayStation users. I will say I want to give Darksiders another chance. I played it at launch and the game was riddled with game-breaking bugs and glitches. It does look like the Deathinitive Edition has resolved those issues that plagued the game at launch. The other games aren’t ones that are up my alley.
What do you think of this month’s games? Are you going to pick any of them up? Let us know in the comments.
