The long-awaited PlayStation 5 reveal event has just ended, and multiple new games were showcased. Some minor, some major, but all fantastic. Sony has outdone themselves this time and has granted many fans’ wishes. One of which is the long-rumored remake for one of FromSoftware’s older titles, Demon’s Souls, a 2009 game that has been stuck on the PlayStation 3 until now. The title is finally receiving it’s highly deserved remake, as revealed earlier today during the Live stream.
Additional Details
The remake is being handled by Bluepoint, a studio known for their amazing work in remastering and remaking several titles like the Sony exclusive game, Shadow of the Colossus. The game is also significantly prettier than its original version showing off vastly improved visuals. It also supports ray tracing, and players will have the option to choose between the mode that favors visuals or one that favors performance.
The Youtube description of the trailer says:
“From JAPAN Studio and Bluepoint Games comes a remake of the PlayStation classic, Demon’s Souls. This remake invites players to experience the original, brutal challenge, completely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced with a new “Fractured Mode.” In addition to beautiful shadow effects and ray tracing, players can choose between two graphics modes while playing: one focused on fidelity, and one focused on frame rate. Coming to PlayStation 5.”
For now, all we’ve seen is a cinematic trailer. Pretty as it may be, we’ll still have to wait for some gameplay footage whenever that may arrive.
