Eidos-Montreal has announced Deus Ex: Universe, an ‘ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games.’ Eidos aims to release content on a regular basis that continues to expand this universe and will be spread out across multiple platforms and mediums –including tablets, books and graphic novels.
The first part of this universe is already in production for PC and next-gen systems, with most of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution team working on it. Said Eidos-Montreal’s David Anfossi, “It took us four years to learn how to create a unique Deus Ex experience with Human Revolution and it was important for me to keep this knowledge within the franchise.”
Concept art from the in development game has also been revealed, which shows a ‘ghetto city’ in which trans-humanism segregation is heavily present and the city has been separated based on class.
“For now, I hope you are excited about the future of this game that we love so much,” said Anfossi. “Deus Ex is coming to next-gen, it’s early so don’t expect to hear much more from us just yet, but I wanted you to know.”
Deus Ex: Universe, nor the first game that serves as the starting point, have been given release dates.
