Diablo III Sells Over 10 Million Copies Plus World of Warcraft Subscription Down Slightly

<p>Not surprisingly&comma; <em>Diablo III<&sol;em> has done pretty well for itself&comma; leaving Activision Blizzard feeling rather proud of the results&period; Not so great news for the company though&comma; was that of World of Warcraft subscriptions dipping somewhat from 10&period;2 million to 9&period;1 million but that doesn&&num;8217&semi;t seem to be bothering the company too much at this point&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;For the first six months &lbrack;of 2012&rsqb;&comma; we had the top three best-selling games in North America and Europe with Activision Publishing’s <em>Skylanders Spyro’s Adventures<&sol;em> and <em>Call of Duty&colon; Modern Warfare 3<&sol;em>&comma; and Blizzard Entertainment’s record setting <em>Diablo III<&sol;em>&comma;&&num;8221&semi; stated Bobby Kotick&comma; CEO of Activision Blizzard&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mike Morhaime of Blizzard was reported as saying that despite a slight decrease in <em>WoW<&sol;em> subscriptions&comma; pre-orders for the upcoming <em>World of Warcraft&colon; Mist of Pandaria <&sol;em>were &&num;8220&semi;off to a good start&&num;8221&semi;&period; He also remarked that footage of <em>Mist of Pandaria <&sol;em>will be shown at the upcoming Gamescom event later this year<em>&period;<&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Overall&comma; revenue for Activision Blizzard has decreased&comma; from &dollar;1&period;15 billion earned in Q2 of last year&comma; to &dollar;1&period;09 billion from Q2 of this year&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em> <&sol;em>&lpar;Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;g4tv&period;com&sol;thefeed&sol;blog&sol;post&sol;726600&sol;diablo-3-has-sold-more-than-10-million-copies-wow-subs-down-to-91-million&sol;">G4TV<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
