DICE made a statement today regarding the “rubber-banding” issues that players have been experiencing since the release of the Naval Strike DLC. In their effort to solve these issues, DICE will be deploying new higher-performance servers.

“We have invested in new hardware to resolve this issue and deployed new higher-performance servers this week. In preparation, we conducted a significant amount of testing before installing the new servers to ensure they would correct the issue. We are already seeing performance improvement with 64-player matches and expect this to continue.” – Karl Magnus Troedsson, DICE VP &; GM

There is no getting around the fact that Battlefield 4 has been plagued by issues since its release. EA recently defended Battlefield 4’s rough launch.

“I think there was a lot of noise about the game, but some of that is a function of your surface area. The more customers you have, the more noise becomes available,” – EA Chief Creative, Rich Hilleman

Time will tell if this has any lasting effect on the Battlefield brand or if it’s a passing issue.
