Hellboy film director Guillermo Del Toro hinted towards an attempt to secure a third installment in the popular film franchise, whilst speaking to Entertainment Weekly and promoting upcoming film “Pacific Rim” at Comicon.

Both Del Toro, and the film’s star Ron Perlman are willing to attempt the third installment. “I can say publicly that now we are together in trying (Hellboy 3).”

Perlman continued to give light on the ideas resonating from the the director and himself. “The two movies were really set up to have this unbelievable resolve, everything that was done in both movies was leading up to this destiny, written in stone, of what Hellboy has been summoned to Earth to do.”

Perlman added that “To not do it – particularly in the light of the scope that Guillermo is thinking of for the resolve – would be in my mind a little bit of a shame.”

Del Toro has yet to speak to Hellboy creator Mike Mignola about the sequel, nor has he contacted a studio.
