<p><a href="http://ea.newshq.businesswire.com/press-release/company-news/walt-disney-company-and-ea-announce-multi-year-star-wars-games-agreement">Disney and EA have announced</a> a multi-year agreement that sees EA with exclusive licensing rights that allows them to develop and publish future Star Wars games. EA will develop games for &#8216;a core gaming audience, spanning all interactive platforms and the most popular game genres.&#8217; Disney will still retain some of the rights, as they plan on creating games for the mobile, social and tablet markets.</p>
<p>Additionally, EA Labels President Frank Gibeau has revealed that three of their studios &#8211;Bioware, DICE and Visceral&#8211; will be developing Star Wars titles.</p>
<p>“Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe,” said Gibeau. &#8220;The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay.”</p>
<p>The financial terms regarding the agreement were not mentioned.</p>
