The Division Sets The Stage for America’s Post-Apocalypse

In case you forgot, Tom Clancy’s The Division is due out this coming year and it’s all about the end of the United States, as its latest trailer would tell you. And it’s all thanks to a germ.

The trailer, which you can watch down below, chronicles the story of how one seeming flu virus leveled the entire U.S. – and all without one lick of gameplay. Instead, a collection of stylized story panels and a brooding voice-over tell us just how America’s most dangerous quarantine, the “Dark Zone,” came to resort to the agents of the Strategic Homeland Division, a.k.a. you.

Set years after a Black Friday pandemic collapsed the U.S. government, The Division’s an open-world, third-person online shooter pits player against player in a sandbox New York City as you try and combat the virus unravel the conspiracy at the heart of the outbreak.

After two years of delays since its announcement, The Division will finally be out March 8th, 2016 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. People who pre-order the game will also be given exclusive access to the game’s yet-to-be-dated, online multiplayer beta this holiday season on PC and PS4.
