Doctor Who, Other BBC Shows To Stay On Netflix

Yes, you heard that right – the TARDIS isn’t flying off into the sunset just yet. In light of recent reports that Netflix was losing the rights to a variety of BBC shows, the streaming service tells us that virtually all of its Brits are coming back next month as planned.

Speaking with Variety, a Netflix spokeswoman claimed that such reports regarding the service canceling its contracts with such shows as Doctor Who, Luther, and Copper were false to begin with.

Among the shows that’ll be sticking around on Netflix for a while longer also include Torchwood, Wallander, Keeping Up Appearances, and the original Office and House of Cards series.

The new deal in question did not involve retaining such series as Steven Moffat’s Sherlock, Happy Valley, The Honorable Woman, or Call the Midwife, on further note.

For reference, here’s a full list of the BBC series staying on Netflix’s service:

• Classic Doctor Who

• Doctor Who seasons 1 through 7

• Copper seasons 1 and 2
