Doctor Strange Movie Will Not Be an Origin Story

<p>Most of the comic book superheroes being newly introduced to the cinema often need an introduction&comma; but director Scott Derrickson is going to break that tradition&period; According to Badass Digest&&num;8217&semi;s Devin Faraci&comma; Marvel Studio&&num;8217&semi;s forth coming <em><strong>Doctor Strange<&sol;strong><&sol;em> film will not be an origin story&period; Here is what Faraci had to say on the Schmoes Know Network show&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>Doctor Strange&comma; they had a script in house forever…&period;It’s a pretty standard origin story for Doctor Strange&comma; it’s gotta Baron von Mordo as the bad guy&period; That’s all gone&period; Marvel’s new thing is no more origin stories&period; So Doctor Strange’s movie no longer has an origin&period; It begins in media res&comma; it’s got Doctor Strange all ready established as The Sorcerer Supreme&period; It’s a totally new script&period; Jon Spaiths is working totally new&comma; on his own&comma; without any of the previous stuff&period; They’re not even touching the previous script…&period;This is not going to be 20 minutes of him as a doctor&period;<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>Given that Marvel has already introduced a lot of superheroes with their Cinematic Universe clearly established&comma; it doesn&&num;8217&semi;t seem like too big of a leap to just jump straight into a new hero without introduction&period; It makes the film feel new and exciting as it&&num;8217&semi;ll bypass the expected climb for the hero to arise for his name&period; He&&num;8217&semi;s a sorcerer&quest; Awesome&comma; let&&num;8217&semi;s get to a real story with that character than just building him from the ground up&period; Hopefully this type of storytelling will spill over into other superhero flicks that aim to bring more main protagonists to the screen&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;youtube&period;com&sol;channel&sol;UC-SDiZLNHzanQ4xDtwoFkSA">Schmoes Know Network<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
