Don’t Expect Any More Games Like Uncharted: Golden Abyss On Vita

<p>The head of Sony UK&comma; Fergal Gara&comma; is warning fans that they should not expect to play any more big AAA titles on the PlayStation Vita&period;  When the platform was first released&comma; its target market was gamers who wanted to play big console titles on the go&period; Games such as Uncharted&colon; Golden Abyss and Killzone&colon; Mercenary were created as part of that strategy&period; Unfortunately this market simply wasn&&num;8217&semi;t big enough to support development costs as neither game set the sales chart on fire&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Instead&comma; the PS Vita has been repositioned to focus on smaller games and younger players&period; This new tactic seems to be working and Gara is pretty happy with the platform&&num;8217&semi;s performance&period; Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer&comma; he said &&num;8221&semi;we&&num;8217&semi;ve done great numbers through the summer&period; You may have seen our TV campaign focused on younger gamers around the Lego titles&period; There&&num;8217&semi;s a nod to Minecraft in there and LittleBigPlanet&period; It&&num;8217&semi;s proved successful&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Not all hope is lost however&period; Whilst Sony&&num;8217&semi;s Western studios won&&num;8217&semi;t be making any more AAA Vita titles&comma; their Eastern developers will&period; Gamers who want big action games like Uncharted&colon; Golden Abyss can play Japan Studio&&num;8217&semi;s Freedom Wars which is coming over next month&period; Hopfully Sony will also localise their upcoming RPG Oreshika&colon; Tainted Bloodlines from Alfa Systems&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;eurogamer&period;net&sol;articles&sol;2014-09-11-sony-insists-vita-isnt-going-anywhere">Eurogamer<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
