Don’t Starve: Giant’s Edition Stomping To PS Vita

<p>Corey Rollins of Klei Entertainment recently took to the <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;blog&period;us&period;playstation&period;com&sol;2014&sol;06&sol;06&sol;dont-starve-giant-edition-coming-to-ps-vita&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">official Playstation blog<&sol;a> to announce plans for a PS Vita version of <em>Don&&num;8217&semi;t Starve<&sol;em>&comma; the critically acclaimed 2013 PC hit&period; This news coincides with the April 30th release of the first major piece of DLC <em>Reign of Giants<&sol;em>&comma; featuring two new playable characters&comma; new biomes&comma; creatures and special seasonal challenges to add to the already unforgiving environment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Don&&num;8217&semi;t Starve<&sol;em> is an open world survival experience with a highly stylized hard-drawn graphical style&comma; culminating in a game best described as <em>Minecraft<&sol;em> inside a Tim Burton movie&period; Players have to scavenge&comma; craft&comma; eat and fight to survive in randomly generated pseudo-3D worlds filled to the brim with nightmarish monsters and even apparitions formed from the player&&num;8217&semi;s waning mental sanity&period; Combined with the added features of <em>Reign of Giants<&sol;em> newcomers on the PS Vita will have plenty to learn in order to live through the nights&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The game recently saw release on the PS4 and became a community favorite thanks to remote play capabilities adding to the already unique play style offered&period; Rollins made special note of alterations being made to ensure the PS Vita version takes full advantage of the handheld&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000">We’ve also optimized the game to take advantage of Vita’s touch features&period; Navigation for menus&comma; maps&comma; items&comma; and crafting are all touch friendly&comma; or you can use the classic button navigation&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>Klei also recently announced a free multiplayer expansion <em>Don&&num;8217&semi;t Starve Together on May 30th<&sol;em>&comma; which will add four player gameplay to further enrich the experience&period; It is currently unknown whether multiplayer capabilities will make it into the Vita version&period; A release date for <em>Don&&num;8217&semi;t Starve&colon; Giant&&num;8217&semi;s Edition <&sol;em>has yet to be revealed&comma; with Klei stating that more information will be available soon&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;blog&period;us&period;playstation&period;com&sol;2014&sol;06&sol;06&sol;dont-starve-giant-edition-coming-to-ps-vita&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">Playstation blog<&sol;a>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
