Yesterday, Klei Entertainment announced that their standalone expansion pack for Don’t Starve is being released next week on Steam. The Don’t Starve Together – Frontier Pack will now bring multiplayer to the Don’t Starve franchise. Players can choose to either work cooperatively with friends in private games or tempt fate and play with randoms in public matches. The goal is to either work together to survive the elements or break from the pack and see if you can’t make it on your own.
Starting this weekend, the studio will be emailing all the remaining people who have signed up for Closed Beta access and then starting on December 15, the game will be available on Steam Early Access.
The Frontier Pack will include a copy of the Don’t Starve and two copies of Don’t Starve Together. If you don’t already own Don’t Starve the Frontier Pack will cost $19.99. Existing owners can purchase the Frontier Pack for $4.99.
