Doom 4 to be Unleashed at Quakecon

Doom-3-BFG-Edition

Don’t mess with Texas…or with Doom monsters for that matter. Doom developer id Software will be showing off the fourth entry in its classic John Carmack created FPS series at its annual QuakeCon convention celebrating all things id Software.

Parent company Bethesda Softworks has also published a schedule of special events for QuakeCon 2014, and the highlight appears to be a look at the presumably titled Doom 4. Bethesda has further said that the reveal will be exclusive to QuakeCon and not shown at other video game events.

The Doom reveal will take place on the Ventrilo main stage at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. It will occur on the first night of QuakeCon, Thursday, July 17 at 6 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Other special events at QuakeCon include a special “portfolio review” with id Software art director Hugo Martin, Elder Scrolls Online tournaments, an episode of Bonus Round with Geoff Keighley, and a Magic the Gathering tournament.

Doom 4, whose beta codes were included with copies of Wolfenstien: The New Order, has already been allegedly leaked via the screenshots below. The beta itself has not yet been officially scheduled, nor has its reveal been officially dated until now. We’ll have to wait and see whether any of the ones below, supposedly showcasing new character classes and locations, are indeed authentic.
