DOOM Comes to the Nintendo Switch on November 10

DOOM, Bethesda Software

Bethesda surprised many people last month when they announced that DOOM would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Now, Nintendo themselves have tweeted out that DOOM is coming sooner than one would expect, and hits the Switch on November 10. This is great news for those that are looking for more Mature-rated games on Nintendo’s stellar new system. The campaign of the game was generally well-received and the game was known for the single-player portion, however multiplayer is included and looks to be as frantic as ever. You can watch a developer interview below if you’d like to find out more about the popular shooter’s move to the Switch.

An important thing to note is that DOOM is not the only game intended for older audiences that is launching in mid-November. Alongside DOOM comes Rockstar’s crime drama L.A. Noire on November 14 and Skyrim lands November 17. While this may be seen as a glut of games aimed at a more mature audience, it will help heading into the busy holiday shopping season giving more options to those looking at picking up a Nintendo Switch.

DOOM on the Nintendo Switch will include the single-player campaign, multiplayer, and all DLC that has been released so far. It also includes arcade mode, which is a pretty fun take on playing through the game. All upgraded weapons and runes are unlocked for the player to use, and then the goal is to make it through levels as fast as possible and by getting the highest score. Following DOOM, sometime next year Bethesda will also be releasing Wolfenstein 2 on the Switch, however no firm date is set for that release.

With DOOM on its way, as well as games like Wolfenstein 2, Skyrim, L.A. Noire and Nintendo’s rumored desire to bring more mature titles to the Switch, it will be interesting to see if the Switch can become gamer’s primary system versus being a supplement to the PS4 or Xbox One. Will you be picking it up and what do you think of these titles making their way to the family friendly Switch? Let us know in the comments below.
