If you have an Xbox One and were planning to get the new Doom when it’s released later this year, you might want to consider pre-ordering the game. Those who do so will receive free copies of the original Doom and Doom II that will work via backwards compatibility. This offer is only available for a limited time and codes will be delivered within 7-10 days, presumably after the game is released. This specific promotion is also only available through the Xbox Games Store.

This offer is only available for Xbox One users because of the backwards compatibility that Microsoft enabled back in November. The original games are already backwards compatible titles that are available for purchase through the Xbox Games Store right now, if you do not intend to pre-order the reboot of the franchise. Both games were released on Xbox 360 prior to this announcement.

Pre-ordering Doom on any platform will also get players the Demon Multiplayer Pack which comes with a unique armor set, skin variations, Hack modules, and cosmetic customization options that can be applied to weapons and armor.

This release will mark the return of the seminal first-person shooter franchise that broke new ground and paved the way for the shooters that followed. The first two games were the last in the franchise for ten years until the series returned with Doom 3. The franchise has sat dormant for many years now, but is finally making its return this year.

Doom will be releasing on May 13th, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
