Nintendo has announced the download size for the first ‘big-named’ title since the console first launched, Lego City Undercover. And with the news it has became apparent that gamers WILL need an external hard drive if they are going down the download route.

The official website reads: “An external hard drive is required to download this software… Visit support.nintendo.com for information about storage options”.

The game itself will eat up 22GB of your memory and although this seems to, just about, fit into the premium version of the console, the Wii U owners of the basic version will have no chance due to console having just 3GB of free space (from the advertised 8GB) after downloading Nintendo’s essential system update.

Are you going down the download-route for your Wii U library?
