Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below was released February 26, 2015 in Japan and mid-October for North America and Europe, and it looks like a sequel is already going to be released soon in Japan. The title for the second game is Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End and it will be released on May 27th, 2016 in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. Screenshots and details about the game’s story and characters have already been revealed for the next entry in the series. You can view the screenshots here, including character designs.
Players will control Razel and his cousin, Tereshia. Both characters will have their own point of view for the story, and players will have the opportunity to switch between them just as it was in the first game. Other characters include Cesare – a prince and commander-in-chief of an army – and Orneze, who is warrior for King Zebion. All these characters were designed by Akira Toriyama, who has designed many of the iconic characters in the Dragon Quest series.
The story of Dragon Quest Heroes II centers around the seven kingdoms of Zebion. A 1,000 year peace is suddenly threatened by a giant war brewing between the seven countries. Players will have to help stop this war before it is too late.
Omega Force will be returning to develop the game. A trailer for Dragon Quest Heroes II will be released on February 24th via a stream entitled “Dragon Quest Heroes: The Live”.
