Announced via Twitter this morning, Dragon Quest Heroes II looks to be making its way to Europe and North America for PS4 in April, 2017. The sequel to 2015’s Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below will hit North American shores on April 25th, while the European release will be on April 28th. Unlike the previous game, there has not been an announcement of a Vita release, despite the Japanese version being available on PS4, PS3 and Vita.
We covered the game back in February when it was announced for Japan with the subtitle “The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End”. No word on whether it will have that same subtitle when it is released outside of Asian territories. Based on the marketing at this point, it’s probably a safe bet that it will not.
The game will feature an all new story with all new characters, which you can gets hints at in the trailer above. Players will have a unique cast of characters to choose from, as well as two new characters – Lazarel and Teresa. The world is descending into chaos and it is up to you to help salvage peace among the Seven Realms.
The original game seemed to do fairly well, so it makes a lot of sense for the sequel to make its way here. I’m sure there will be Vita fans that are bummed by the lack of a Vita announcement, but I’ll take any version over no version, I guess.
