It’s been over six months since Driveclub raced out of the gate this past October to the sight of bugs and crashes in its online multiplayer and now it’s looking like its developer are having some bugs of their own to hammer out.

Talking to two independent sources “close to the studio,” Eurogamer reports that Driveclub developer Evolution Studios is going to be axing at least 55 employees – just half of its 110 member studio. At least one source mentioned the possibility of some of Evolution’s former workers being able to return as part-time contractors, but there’s been no guarantee.

Last week it was announced that Evolution Studios would be downsizing and focusing on the franchise “as a service,” including the free PlayStation Plus edition of Driveclub that’s still been MIA since its E3 announcement almost two years ago this year. Whether there’ll be a Driveclub 2 from Evolution is another matter, but an increasingly unlikely one from here on out.
