Skylanders is getting “supercharged” this year, but this time, they’re bringing their Amiibo friends along for the ride. Nintendo and developer Vicarious Visions announced today during Nintendo’s E3 Digital Event.
Skylanders Superchargers will be the first in the series to feature Nintendo’s own Amiibo toy-to-game line, namely with “Turbo Charge Donkey Kong” and “Hammer Slam Bowser.” The former will boast his very own vehicle too, the Barrel Blaster, and Hammer Slam Bowser wielding, you guessed it – a gigantic hammer.
The figures will possess “complete move sets and upgrade trees of powers and abilities,” Vicarious Visions’ Karthik Bala said.
Each figure’s base is also designed to be used as either a Skylander or an Amiibo. You can check out the SuperChargers segment of the E3 Digital Event above.
Naturally, the Amiibo figurines will be exclusive the Wii U version of Superchargers and won’t be compatible with any other versions.
Skylanders Superchargers roars onto Wii U, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and i0S this September 20th.
