E3 2015: Star Wars Battlefront Has a ‘Survival Mode’

EA and DICE have already taken us to through the snow today so it’s only right that they’d warm us up with a little with some fun in the sun, so to speak.

Among Star Wars Battlefront’s various features is “Survival Mode” which, as the name should suggest, stars wave after wave of enemies to eliminate and also hosts a split-screen and one-on-one play with AI.

The Sony press conference’s video demonstration of the mode featured the game’s two-player co-op defend an escape pod on what may either be Tatooine or possibly the new planet of Jakku as featured in Star Wars The Force Awakens.

For all you hardcore Star Wars fanatics out there, you can also see Admiral Ackbar’s floating, holographic head instructing you if you play on the Rebel side. And all members of the Fett family, beware: jetpacks are used here.

The Battle of Jakku in particular is just one of the many pre-order bonuses for download on launch day as opposed to its public release Dec. 8th – a week away from The Force Awakens‘ theatrical release. The bonus mission chronicles the events that shook the planet prior to the events of the film between the Empire and the New Republic, leaving its surface a virtual scrapyard.

Star Wars Battlefront launches on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One this November 17th.
