What’s better than Mario and Luigi? Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario, according to Nintendo.

It’s been three years since Paper Mario: Sticker Star unfolded onto 3DS and just two since Mario &; Luigi: Dream Team went into the latter’s head. Now the two franchises are crossing over into the same 2D/3D plane in what’s been dubbed Mario &; Luigi: Paper Jam.

Players will be able to control multiple Mario’s and Luigi’s, paper and otherwise, onscreen in battle and across the over world.

Mario, Luigi, Kamek, and Princess Peach are all confirmed to be a part of the cast along with a small peak at an appearance by Super Mario Sunshine‘s Petey Pirahna. From the looks of the trailer, not everyone involved’s too happy about meeting their “cheap rip-off” self, including one Koopa King.

The game releases early next year for the 3DS.
