Sony announced Days Gone during their E3 2016 conference, a new IP for PS4 from Sony Bend.
The reveal trailer includes the male protagonist reminiscing on his past. He describes what he remembers before his home met its post-apocalyptic fate. The whole trailer presents the game with a nostalgic, hopeless, and defeated tone. The main character has hardened because of the past events, and seemingly was forced to become a bounty hunter and mercenary.
The last story-driven experience Sony Bend delivered was a launch title for the PlayStation Vita back in 2011, Uncharted Golden Abyss.
