E3 2016: Tacoma Trailer Filled with Mystery and Zero Gravity

Tacoma

(Tacoma, Fullbright)

Tacoma is one of my most anticipated titles for 2017. The game is at E3 2016 and is being shown off to press, but a trailer has also been released that shows a bit more about the game. There is still a lot we do not know about the game’s story, but the trailer above helps show some of the mechanics and the way players will traverse throughout the narrative-based experience.

One of the first things you’ll notice is while maneuvering through the space ship there will be moments when you have to traverse with and without gravity. It helps build the atmosphere of being cooped up in a space station with no one to talk to. You play as Amy, and it looks like you’ll be going through the game stitching together what happened on the space station through environmental clues and digital recordings of former crewmates. The trailer shows those crewmates maneuvering around and you will be able to rewind, pause and play the footage of their recordings at will. This will give players the opportunity to experience conversations and scenes from different angles and discover different clues based on how you are looking at a scene or who you are focused on.

Tacoma is being developed by Fullbright, who created Gone Home – one of my favourite games of 2014. It will be available for Xbox One and PC in 2017.
