Tekken 7 will be coming to Xbox One in early 2017. What was originally announced for PlayStation 4 and coming with PlayStation VR functionality, Bandai Namco revealed during the Microsoft E3 press conference that it would be coming to the Xbox One as well.
At the press conference, they started by showing a trailer involving Akuma, from Street Fighter, fighting Heihachi. This led some to believe that Tekken x Street Fighter, the long in-development game would finally be coming, but alas it was not the case. Regardless, it is great news for Xbox fighting game fans that they will be getting the legendary series on the Xbox One and that it isn’t a PlayStation exclusive.
The game will be coming with a brand-new campaign mode, as well as the various modes that one would expect from Bandai Namco’s fighting game series. Additionally, it was noted during the press conference that Bandai Namco would be giving all Xbox Gold subscribers a free copy of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, downloadable now.
Giving away free copies of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a great move by Bandai Namco, and should help to build some more hype for the series as it nears its early 2017 launch.
